Halftime is a workplace game product. Some activity is meant to be shared with your team, but we keep the product data we collect narrow and practical.

Account information

Name, email address, profile image, authentication records, and basic profile details from Google or Microsoft if you choose those sign-in methods.

Team information

Team names, membership, invitations, roles, team settings, departments, company accounts, and admin activity.

Game and activity data

Game participation, scores, streaks, timestamps, leaderboards, weekly champion history, joke ratings, and team statistics.

Content you submit

Prompt responses, game submissions, live-session answers, feedback messages, support requests, and other information you choose to enter.

Billing information

Stripe customer IDs, subscription status, plan, billing interval, and payment metadata. We do not store full card numbers.

Technical information

IP address, browser and device information, request logs, error logs, cookies, and similar records used for security, debugging, analytics, and reliability.

This Privacy Policy describes how Firebell House Pty Ltd (ACN 696 044 283) ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you use Halftime at halftime.coffee and related services (the "Service").

1. How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Service;
  • authenticate users and manage accounts, teams, roles, and invitations;
  • run games, live sessions, leaderboards, prompts, jokes, records, and statistics;
  • send transactional email and optional Slack, Teams, or email notifications;
  • process payments, subscriptions, refunds, and billing support;
  • respond to feedback, support, legal, privacy, or security requests;
  • debug errors, prevent abuse, and protect the Service; and
  • understand aggregate product and marketing performance.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use product activity inside Halftime to build advertising profiles.

2. Visibility inside teams

Halftime is collaborative. When you join a team, your name, profile image, scores, ranks, prompt responses, game participation, streaks, and other relevant team activity may be visible to teammates, team administrators, and company administrators. This is part of how the Service works.

3. Third-party services

We use service providers only as needed to operate, secure, deliver, measure, and bill for the Service. These providers may process personal information on our behalf.

Optional OAuth sign-in and basic profile information.

Transactional email such as sign-in codes, invitations, and account notifications.

Neon

PostgreSQL database hosting.

Vercel

Application hosting, deployment, and first-party analytics.

Content delivery, real-time infrastructure, and file storage.

Upstash

Rate limiting, caching, and background job delivery.

Sentry

Error monitoring and debugging when configured.

Slack / Microsoft Teams

Optional team notifications when a team admin connects an integration.

Google Analytics / Google Ads

Marketing measurement when configured on public pages.

We may also disclose information if required by law, court order, government request, or to protect our rights, users, or the security of the Service.

4. Cookies, analytics, and marketing measurement

We use essential first-party cookies to keep you signed in and remember preferences. These are required for the Service to function.

We use Vercel Analytics for privacy-respecting product and page analytics. If configured, we may also use Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion measurement on public marketing pages to understand site usage and ad performance. You can block non-essential cookies through your browser settings or Google's analytics opt-out tools.

5. Storage, security, and location

Production data may be processed and stored outside your country, including in the United States. We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including HTTPS/TLS in transit, managed infrastructure, access controls, and secure authentication practices.

No online service can guarantee absolute security. If a data breach affects personal information, we will notify affected users and regulators where required by applicable law, including the Australian Notifiable Data Breaches scheme where it applies.

6. Retention and deletion

We keep account, team, billing, and activity data for as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and maintain business records. If you delete your account or ask us to delete personal information, we will delete or de-identify active records within a reasonable period unless we need to retain them for legal, security, tax, billing, or legitimate business reasons.

Deleted data may remain in backups, logs, or archives for a limited period before being overwritten or removed through normal retention cycles. Aggregated or de-identified information may be retained indefinitely.

7. Your rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing of, or export your personal information. California residents may also have rights to know, delete, opt out of sale or sharing, and not be discriminated against for exercising privacy rights. We do not sell personal information.

Australian privacy law also gives individuals rights around access and correction of personal information. You may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner if you believe your privacy rights have been breached.

8. Children's privacy

Halftime is designed for workplace teams and is not directed to children. You must be at least 16 to use the Service. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 16, we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice where reasonably appropriate.
